Abstract

A simple and efficient synthesis of the neuroleptic compound Pipothiazine 1 is described, involving the reductive cyclation of (2-nitrophenyl)(phenyl) sulfanes 3 for the formation of the phenothiazine ring. © ARKAT USA, Inc.
