Abstract

Objectives: This is a protocol for a Cochrane Review (intervention). The objectives are as follows:. Primary objective To assess the effects of UF compared to diuretic therapy alone on clinical outcomes such as mortality and rehospitalisation rates. Secondary objectives To assess whether the effects of UF differ in participants with existing heart failure (HFrEF, HFmrEF, or HFpEF). To assess whether the effects of UF differ in participants with or without renal impairment at the time of admission (eGFR < 60 mL/min). To assess whether the effects of UF differ in settings with early initiation of UF therapy (< 24 hours since admission) compared to delayed initiation in refractory congestion. To assess whether the effects of UF differ in UF with intravenous diuretics versus UF alone.
