Abstract

When Hurricane Sandy wiped out the power to the VA in Manhattan, 25 years' worth of specimens held by researchers working on potential HIV vaccines and tuberculosis diagnostics were in jeopardy. But the laboratory team swung into action to preserve their frozen assets.
