Abstract

Objectives: This is a protocol for a Cochrane Review (intervention). The objectives are as follows:. The primary objective of this review is to assess the effect and safety of supportive breastfeeding interventions, in comparison to standard perinatal care, on preventing postpartum depression among women. The secondary objective is to assess whether breastfeeding supportive interventions have an effect on reducing depressive symptomatology, and whether the effect is dependent on the level of breastfeeding (duration and exclusivity).
