Abstract

A set of quantitative performance modeling techniques for the evaluation and design of vector graphics system hardware and firmware is presented. The performance modeling techniques are based on a functional model of graphics processing. The techniques are used to evaluate different addressing schemes for graphical data, and the evaluation quantitatively demonstrates trade-offs between a versatile addressing scheme and one that permits only immediate data. © 1983, ACM.
