Abstract

In order to choose the optimum roll diameter, it is necessary to consider the minimum gauge in rolling, consumption of energy, shape control and allowable roll contact pressure. The calculations presented cover steels with higher flow resistance than encountered in current rolling practice and are for a large draft.
