The Shopping Cart Interactive Program (SCIP) application was designed to improve shoppers' connection with the grocery retail environment. Nutrition is central to human life. Eating the right foods can significantly impact one's quality of life. With the capabilities of the SCIP application to provide an interface that can display readable health information on a mobile device and tailor to the specific dietary restrictions of its users, it will enable shoppers to have a less frustrating experience when shopping for food. © 2011 Springer-Verlag.
