Abstract

The II-VI group binary semiconducting films belonging to cadmium chalcogenides are considered to be very significant materials toward different optoelectronic technologies. This paper deals with the synthesis of binary cadmium chalcogenide films by slurry coating method. Coated films were characterized for their optoelectronic properties. Polycrystalline character of the films was established by X-ray diffraction (XRD). The optical band gap (Eg) of the coated films was calculated by UV/Vis spectroscopy in reflection mode. The DC electrical conductivity measurements for the films were carried out by using the customary two-probe system.
