Abstract

Vanaf het einde der vorige eeuw zag het Nederlands-Indische gouvernement zieh in toenemende mate genoodzaakt om systematisch aandacht te geven aan de voedselproduktie en -consumptie van Indonesie. Al spoedig vond de nieuwe beleidstrend zijn weerslag in de statistische rapportages over de economische en sociale veranderingen na 1885.
