Abstract

The article offers information on open source software from perspective of business. Topics discussed include types of open source licenses such as the GNU Lesser General Public License (LGPL) and permissive licenses, open source business models that are currently used such as business source and software as a service (SaaS), and managerial implications to be considered before starting a new project of open source software.
