Abstract

Spectral analysis has been made of 12 Swedish speakers' nasal consonants /m/ and /n/ followed by four different vowels. Typical patterns of nasal murmur and assimilated nasality in the vowel portion are discussed with respect to established pole-zero models and results from earlier studies including sweep frequency measurements of the vocal and nasal tract. The perceptual significance of various pattern aspects are discussed.
