Abstract

English: Over the past decades, a broad range of software and hardware tools has become available suited to perform sound analysis both in the time domain and in the frequency. A number of former and current concepts are reviewed in regard to frequency measurement, melographic techniques and transcription, pitch perception and consonance, as well as analysis of timbral parameters.
