Abstract

Single domain small ferromagnetic particles are studied using the Monte Carlo technique. In our simulation we have used the classical Heisenberg model for the interaction between the spins in the particle. The dependence of the hysteresis loop upon the temperature and the surface anisotropy is studied The superparamagnetic behavior of the particles is exhibited. The effect of the temperature and the surface anisotropy on the coercive field of the particles is discussed.
