Methylation-sensitive amplified polymorphism (MSAP) is a technique developed for assessing the extent and pattern of cytosine methylation and has been applied to genomes of several species (Arabidopsis, grape, maize, tomato, and pepper). The technique relies on the use of isoschizomers that differ in their sensitivity to methylation. © Springer Science+Business Media New York 2014.
