Laparoscopic ventral hernia repair is offered as an alternative to open surgery in selected cases. Initially employed principally by experienced laparoscopic surgeons, the indications and utilization rates have increased as advanced laparoscopic skills have become ubiquitous among general surgeons. This chapter describes the indications, technique, pitfalls, and complications of laparoscopic ventral hernia repair.
