Abstract

The design of an apparatus based on Bridgman's method, enabling visualization of the growth process and regulation of the crystallization rate, for obtaining single crystals from a melt in a school laboratory is presented. Conditions for obtaining single crystals of several substances are given. © 2005 International Union of Crystallography Printed in Great Britain - all rights reserved.
