Abstract

A technique for optimum control of flood protection reservoirs is presented. As optimization technique for real time flood control Dynamic Programming is proposed. Such optimum flood control has to rely on real-time flood forecasts. Deterministic flood forecasting models using remotely sensed data which are suitable for this purpose are discussed in chapter 21.
