Access to and attainment of different levels of education depends on many inter-locking factors coming together. Some of these are political. This chapter assesses the extent to which political stability influences educational opportunities and outcomes for Ghanaians through its effects on economic growth, public resource spending and education policy. It also explores, although to a lesser extent, how education can promote the consolidation of democratic institutions in Ghana.
