Abstract

Humic substances at a concentration of 0.42 mmol l−1 of carbon are able to phototransform up to 0.68 mmol l−1 of 2,4,6-trimethylphenol upon irradiation at 365 nm, which shows that a catalytic reaction is operating. © 2005 The Royal Society of Chemistry and Owner Societies.
