Abstract

In this paper, the relative rates of electron transfer at carbon and metallic electrodes are compared for two different redox systems. The systems studied are ferricyanide, a one-electron, outer-sphere reduction, that has been well characterized previously, and ascorbate, a two-electron oxidation that also involves a proton transfer.
