The article presents the tasks and structure of an IAPS IT system supporting the security system in plants posing a risk of a major industrial accident. The operation of the system consists in collecting digital documentation, as well as monitoring and supervising tasks related to security in a plant and supporting HAZOP risk analyses with the use of qualitative modelling. After a short introduction and presentation of motives for developing a system, the paper describes the basic modules constituting the system and functions realized with their use. The summary presents prospective benefits resulting from the implementation of the system and expected directions of further development.
