This paper presents the design of an over-the-phone, non-taskoriented, conversational spoken dialogue system character created to chat with users about himself and entertain them. Focus is on techniques used in personality modelling of the system character, how his mood changes based on input, and how this is reflected in his output. Experience with a first version of the system and planned improvements are also discussed.
