Abstract

Critical thinking skills are skills that are needed at present. These abilities need to be instilled through education in the school environment, one of which is learning mathematics. The choice of learning model also influences critical thinking skills, one of which is the cooperative learning model. The purpose of this study was to determine how the effect of cooperative learning models and the selection of learning materials on the ability to think critically in mathematics. The method used in this study is a systematic literature review which analyzes 13 articles obtained through Google Scholar as a database. The results showed that the effect of the cooperative learning model on critical thinking skills had an effect on junior high school education levels and also on mathematics maerials. The group investigation typed cooperative learning model has the largest effect size as 2.23 which is included in the interpretation of the so large effect that is more appropriate to use it on the critical thinking skills of junior high school students in the flat-sided space building material.
