Abstract

Polypropylene-clay nanocomposites were prepared by compounding using a masterbatch technology. The burning behaviour of the nanocomposites was tested. The nanocomposites show fire retardant effects. The effects were discussed by microscopy investigations of the ash and by rheological behaviour of the composites.
