Marine and Freshwater Toxins

Abstract

Various aspects of the AOAC Presidential Task Force on natural toxins and food allergens are discussed. The Task Force membership is composed of voting and nonvoting members, with the voting members consisting of 13 members. The voting members comprise of a balance of government regulators, academics, and industry members. The task Force develop and prioritize a list of marine and freshwater toxins that need validated methods and assist in identifying existing methods for validation through AOAC validation programs.
