Abstract

As commencement of a project for improvement of the Am. Soc. for Testing Materials file of x-ray diffraction powder patterns, patterns carefully prepd. at the Natl. Bureau of Standards are offered for the following substances: Mg, Al, Ni, Cu, Zn, Ge, Mo, Pd, Ag, Sn, Te, W, Ta, Pt, Au, Pb, BeO, MgO, SiO2 (α-cristobalite), CaO, TiO2 (rutile), TiO2 (anatase), NiO, CuO, GeO2, As2O3, SeO2, SnO2, CeO2, ThO2, Ca(OH)2, NH2Cl, LiF, LiCl, NaF, KF, KCl, KBr, KI, CaF2, BaF2, Hg2Cl2, HgCl2, HgI2, PbFCl, KCN, NaCN (cubic), NaCN (orthorhombic), Sr(NO3)2, Ba(NO3)2, ZnB2O4, Mg2SiO4, and MgWO4; for SiO2 (β-cristobalite) one of the patterns already in the file is indicated as preferred.
