Abstract

While reducing the volume of the breast is a fairly simple task, obtaining an acceptable cosmetic result is not. To solve this problem of surgical breast excision reduction, there are a variety of traditional surgical techniques utilizing an assortment of incisions from the circumareolar incision, to the vertical incision, to the more common inverted “T.” Breast reduction technique using liposuction reduces breast weight in a more homogenous fashion. It also maintains a more natural shape and leaves minimal or no scarring on the breast. The author describes the technique.
