Abstract

How can we begin to know the putative Big Bang or later steps? Yet scientific evidence paints a portrait of potential emergences, of matter, life, mind, and perhaps even a future stage, about which one may speculate. One can move from atoms, galaxies, worlds, life, organisms, mind, onward to a triumphant achievement for creativity-of awareness, and beyond that, of meta-awareness. Awareness of our awareness. This step is not about individuals in isolation. Cultural evolution enters, joins, interacts with biological evolution. We enter new worlds of possibility, futures we may choose. A Birth of Creativity. Aided by dreams, images, metaphors, symbols, archetypes, narrative, languages and memory, evolution of memes/information, and more. Nor are humans the only beings with such capacities. Might we hominids yet be poised for an eventual evolutionary leap-to higher mind, even a greater good? (If so, let us hurry.)
