Abstract

Endemic to the Atlantic Forest of southeastern Brazil, buffy-headed (Callithrix flaviceps Thomas, 1903) and buffy-tufted-ear(Callithrix aurita E. Geoffroy, 1812) marmosets face harsh seasonal extremes of temperature and rainfall, together possibly the most severe conditions regularly experienced by any callitrichine species in the wild.
