Abstract

The article analyzes the research processes of university students for the organization of scientific information. The paper offers an overview of the incidence of a bibliographic manager on the quality of the research in the Faculty of Administrative and Economic Sciences of the Technical University of North, in Ecuador. The conceptual aspects about these tools comparing the characteristics of the most used managers in the academy, Mendeley, EndNote and Zotero, are described. The cross-sectional methodology consisted of applying a questionnaire to the students about their scientific information organization. After that, they were trained in the use of EndNote and Mendeley, and through the same questionnaire, it was determined the bibliographic manager knowledge incidence in the investigative process. The results showed that, although there is appropriate use of citations in the papers, this habit is not common among students, being the correct citation form, the main difficulty detected.
