Abstract

Currently, in addition to social skills, the new changes in work contexts also consider the level of commitment and efficiency within organizations as a priority. In this sense, the objective of this article is to establish a relationship between interpersonal skills and work commitment or “engagement” in the administrative personnel of police and military origin of a judicial institution in Lima-Peru. The study follows a quantitative, basic, correlational and cross-sectional approach methodology. The population was 228 workers belonging to a judicial institution in the city of Lima; In addition, the survey technique and a questionnaire were used for data collection. The instrument was validated by expert judgment and obtained a high level of reliability. The main result of the research was that interpersonal skills and work engagement have a moderate positive (Rho=0.665) and significant (ρ = 0.000) correlation. In conclusion, the null hypothesis is rejected and it is accepted that, at a higher level of interpersonal skills, the level of work commitment of workers will be higher
