This chapter uses a cognitive and social psychological lens to examine a less well known quote from The Diary of Anne Frank. The quote refers to Anne Frank’s observations that anti-Semitism had been growing during the time that the Frank family was in hiding. The chapter concludes that growing intolerance at the time cannot be attributed solely to the effects of Nazi propaganda.
