Epidemiology of heroin dependency among soldiers in Vietnam

Abstract

The author has presented an overview of heroin use among troops in Vietnam and has reported observations on the availability of the drug, environmental social settings, and demography of the using population. Methods of primary and secondary prevention are postulated and the impracticality of methadone maintenance is discussed.
