Abstract

Six new kinamycin antibiotics, designated as FL-120A~D′ (1~6) were isolated from the culture nitrate of Streptomyces sp. strain IY2-13. Based on its cultural, physiological, morphological and chemical characteristics, this strain was identified as a new subspecies of Streptomyces chattanoogensis and named S. chattanoogensis subsp. taitungensis. These kinamycins have demonstrated a potent activity against Gram-positive aerobic and anaerobic bacteria. © 1994, JAPAN ANTIBIOTICS RESEARCH ASSOCIATION. All rights reserved.
