What can we do to for children to develop a taste for literary reading? This question not only appeals to teachers of the school system and initial teacher training, but also parents, and all those who, one way or another, have close contact with children and want to contribute to their development as readers and people. In this respect, I state the need to discover or rediscover children's literature as adult readers. From the contributions of studies related to psychoanalysis, I mainly analyze why the greatest literature classics relate to children's literature. I suggest reading quality works, particularly those that enhance the dialogue with and between child readers and adult readers, and which allow these two types of readers to converge.
