Abstract

Ultrasound is today one of the commonest nondestructive methods in industry, in particular for the inspection of composites in the aerospace industry. Piezoelectric transducers are generally used to emit and receive the ultrasound, but have a number of disadvantages, both in use on a production line and for the inspection of complex parts.
