Abstract

This study intends to generate learning trajectories and assess the effect of learning trajectories to help students understand the idea of percent utilizing the movie context. This research was conducted at Air Kumbang Elementary School involving eight fifth-grade students. This research employed PMRI (Indonesian realistic mathematics education) related to the 2013 curriculum. The strategy employed in this research was to design research-type validation studies. Researchers devised four learning exercises on percent using the cinema context. Data was acquired through student activity sheets, pre-tests, post-tests, videos, and interviews. Data analysis was carried out retrospectively by comparing the Hypothetical Learning Trajectory (HLT) and what happened throughout the learning process. Based on the outcome of the research produces a learning trajectory to help students comprehend the concept of percent using the cinema context in the fifth grade and know the role of the learning trajectory using the cinema context in percent material.
