Abstract

A technique of daily haemodialysis is described involving repeated use of the same disposable twin-coil dialyser by refrigerated haemodialysis with indwelling femoral venous catheters. The technique can be applied to a modified twin-coil Kolff artificiaf kidney. We would like to thank Messrs. Boehringer Ingelheim Ltd. and Messrs. Ciba Ltd. for financial assistance; Mr. B. H. Refson, of the Watson-Marlow Air Pump Co., and Mr. P. J. Gowers, of Capon Heaton & Co. Ltd., fot their enthusiastic support for the development of this dialysis system; and Messrs. Smith & Nephew for specially preparing and supplying the Aerostrip adhesive for stabilization of the catheters. One of us (H. S.) was in receipt of a full-time grant from the Royal Free Hospital, London. © 1964, British Medical Journal Publishing Group. All rights reserved.
