Abstract

Chapter 1 comprises brief introduction of Pakistan and Himalayan region in Pakistan. In first part it provides information related to geo-climatic conditions which include: location, area, landscape and climate, major physiographic entities, short description of biodiversity, various eco-regions, different agro-ecological zones, and forests types of Pakistan. Whereas, second part provides brief description of Himalayas in Pakistan, their location, range, climatic conditions, temperature, rainfall, hydrology, geological features, soil types, vegetation, and fauna.
