This article presents the discourses of girls and boys with regard to the emergence and management of relationships in adolescence. For this purpose a qualitative methodology has been used, obtaining the information through seven discussion groups realized high schools of [place omitted for the process of revision]. The most important results indicate that boys and girls have their first partners around the age of 14, resulting in this emotional attachment of great relevance in their biographies. They point out that having a couple, sometimes, they leave their friendships a bit aside, especially in the case of girls. In addition, as conflicts in their relations reveal the difficulties arising from jealousy and infidelity. Jealousy appears, to a large extent, understood as a sign of love. The article concludes by calling for a quality sexual education that promotes the knowledge of the person, the other people and the interactions we develop, for a co-operative and synergistic coexistence between the sexes.
