Abstract

The electric field, which is used to vary the nanofibre morphology significantly, is a crucial parameter in electrospinning. It is crucial to analyze the distribution of electric field in electrospinning machine. Based on ANSYS, the finite element model of electric field is established, and the distribution of the electric field is calculated and analyzed. The geometry of the electric field structure is optimized. The results of electrospinning experiment show that the orientation and diameter distribution of fiber are improved after the optimum of the electric field. © 2011 Springer-Verlag Berlin Heidelberg.
