Abstract

This paper presents the design of simulation model of 3-Switch Single-Phase Inverter (3S-SPI) for PV system. The advantage of this inverter is that it uses only three switches instead of conventional four switches as in single-phase full bridge inverter. The inverter utilizes three semiconductor switches, in which one is operating at High Frequency (HF) and the remaining switches are operating at Fundamental Frequency (FF). The proposed inverter is also capable of injecting sinusoidal current in phase with the output voltage. The simulation model of PV based 3S-SPI has been developed using MATLAB simulink. The theoretical predictions have been successfully validated with the help of simulation results.
