Abstract

This article discusses the role of rural universities in developing psychology in South Africa in relation to issues in the transformation from apartheid to democracy. Particular focus is on disadvantages, advantages, and unique opportunities. Special implications and applications include community psychology, indigenous healing, and multicultural counselling.
