Abstract

Bending stiffness of 12 specimen groups of Stainless steel and Titanium IM nails from 9 established manufacturers were measured and compared. With this respect, a rapid literature review is conducted. Further, the difference of stainless steel and titanium bending stiffness is discussed. The results are provided as a reference for manufacturers and regulatory authorities as an indication for effectiveness and safety of IM nails. © 2013 IFMBE.
