The impact of knowledge sharing and innovation performance on the organization – moderating by innovation awards

Abstract

Purpose - This study examines the relationship between knowledge sharing, innovation performance and achievement of the organizations that moderated by innovation awards. Design/methodology/approach - Appropriate quantitative techniques used to analyze the subject. The samples include qualified online - questionnaires panel respondents from employees working at project management departments in different organizations in the United Arab Emirates (UAE). The SPSS has been used to analysis the data. Knowledge sharing has been considered as the dependent variable, innovation awards is the moderator variable, and both innovation and firm are the independent variables findings. The results of the study show the significant effect of the moderator variable “innovation award” in the development and performance of the firm. The clarification of the regression analysis considers an advanced level of the variability in knowledge sharing as a dependent variable once involving the mediator variable “in the firm model. Thus, the firms can consider the innovation awards, since it is a valid and effective factor for development. Research limitations/implications - Include only governmental sector. Practical implications - The study results will be of immense benefit to develop the culture of knowledge sharing for the company in the market. Thus, adaptation of innovative techniques is also important for the satisfaction of the employees especially if they are in different projects. Originality/value - This paper is an effort to start studying the impact of innovation awards in the organizations which is not so rich in the academic literature. This study provides an applied data to the comparatively unexplored research area.
