Abstract

Xylaria coprinicola is a new species that antagonizes cultivation and accompanies the growth of Coprinus comatus in china. The antimicrobial properties of X.coprinicola were studied. The results show that the X.coprinicola culture filtrate shows certain inhibiting effects on the growth of pathomycete and edible fungi. The mycelium growth inhibition rate reaches 62.9% for Fusarium solani and 64.5% for C.comatus. The relative electrical conductivity of the hypha of C.comatus is increased by 180.46% as the concentration of X.coprinicola culture filtrate in medicative medium reaches 40%. Microscopic observation shows that distortion, adhesion, uneven thickness, unclear structure and tenuous and transparent cell protoplasm appear on the hypha of C.comatus. © 2012 Springer-Verlag GmbH.
