Nowadays Santri are not only required to focus on studying religious knowledge but are also required to be able to learn to be Santri who have economic independence. With the expectation that later when they enter the community, Santri will become role models in the application of religion in their lives, which is also related to economic independence. This study aims to find out how the empowerment of Santri carried out by Islamic Boarding Schools to establish economic independence through entrepreneurship and have the ability to strengthen product excellence based on local wisdom values that are rooted in Indonesian culture and remain in line with Islamic teachings, not based on other systems that only concerned with the life of the world without regard to life after death. The study was conducted at the Independent Mukmin Islamic Boarding School which has 2 locations in Sidoarjo and Tulungagung. The research methodology uses qualitative, to be able to make interpretive naturalistic approaches and presented in descriptive form, or described in depth. As a result, Santri Empowerment is able to be done through religious education by memorizing the Koran and the yellow book and providing knowledge of the business world that is learned in theory and practice. The entrepreneurship of this coffee business fully involves students in the whole process starting from planning, preparing the organizational structure, implementing HR, Finance, production and marketing. Santri has been taught how to strengthen product excellence, especially cultural excellence in the form of local wisdom that is not owned elsewhere and is able to be a product strength booster, namely the creation of mutual cooperation by all stakeholders in the coffee business and the identity of students & Islamic boarding schools which is very good for the domestic market which is predominantly Muslim
