Abstract

Debris surrounding a deposit of carbonized grain found at the Roman fortress of Isca, Caerleon, Wales, was examined and various cereals, grasses and weeds identified. The find provides evidence of weed introductions new to Britain and of the use of cereals in brewing. Copyright © 1964, Wiley Blackwell. All rights reserved
