Abstract

The bacterium, Escherichia coli, associates with both people health and water sanitation. It is widely treated as the indicator of faecal contamination in drinking water. Droplet digital PCR (dd-PCR) is an absolutely quantification method that can be used in Escherichia coli cell detection. Here, we have established a detection method based on droplet digital PCR for Escherichia coli (CICC10389), which shows good linearity and specificity within its detection range. Moreover, it also displays good linear correlation with the method based on real time quantification PCR. It would help to elevate detection efficiency for Escherichia coli cell in drinking water.
