The Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) has teamed up with Singapore and China to put up a $10 million distance learning project with Asia using computer-based and digital video links. By probable start-up date of September, this interactive but substantive, Masters of Business Administration (MBA) learning experience is sponsored by corporations and Asian host universities. MIT's learning test is based on a simple concept: combining the use of real-time, full motion video conferencing, transmitted via satellite and projected onto a big screen in the classroom, with asynchronous communications tools.
